Last year was an incredible year for my business. It grew in ways I had only dreamt about and I loved every minute of photographing the special moments in other people's lives. When I'm at a wedding I feel myself entranced by all that is going on, and I love the fast paced buzz of the day, the especially chosen details of the bride and groom and learning interesting things about people from all walks of life.
Ive always loved people watching, beautiful things and decorating, in fact that was what I did best in my school days.. people watching and decorating my diary with all the beautiful things I had found from magazines, pictures and other textiles. Oh and talking, I also loved doing that at school, and still do!
Amongst all of the client commissions that I was lucky enough to photograph last year, I didn't take enough time to capture the every day of my own life, the initial reason behind starting my passion with photos and capturing life.
Having lost my parents at a young age, photos are the only thing I really have left of them, and I treasure them immensely. The value of a photograph cannot be measured and becomes more and more valuable as time goes on.
I will be challenging myself to capture the every day of our lives more by taking a photo a day for the rest of the year. Life is busy, but I wont ever get these little moments with my little ones back, and with my eldest starting full time school this year, its a timely reminder that the time is moving swiftly and often it is in a haze. Having photos to look back on from each day will be a memorable document of the year as it is. Fingers crossed I can keep it up!
Wishing you a Happy New Year, I cannot wait for all that this year will bring for my family and for this wonderful passion I get to call my job!
